Customer List

Now that I have upgraded to 2019 ... new customers are not integrated into list properly and it is no longer alphabetized.

Customer List

We can fix this by re-sorting the customer list, 1357.

QuickBooks sometimes arranges the customer list interchangeably that's why it isn't alphabetized. Let's rearrange it by following these steps:

  1. From the Banking menu, select Write Checks.
  2. Click in the Pay to the order of field then on the keyboard press Ctrl+L to open the master Name List.
  3. Click the Include Inactive checkbox.
  4. Click the Name drop-down and select Re-sort List.
  5. Click OK on the Are you sure you want to return this list to its original order? prompt.

Here's an article for more ways how to do re-sorting: Re-sort Lists.

Customer List

@Anonymous

Please learn from thins input. New Customer go to the Top; Intuit started this about 10 years ago. You notice this on Customer reports, such as AR Aging Summary or Sales by Customer Summary.

Open customer center and use View menu > Re-Sort List. You can do All Names, or just Customer. Ctl L = all names. You also can open Chart Of Accounts or Item List and fix them as well. In the List views, you might simply have clicked on a CVolumn to Sort by; Customer Center also allows you to Sort on a column, but New Customers end up at the top alpha-numerically, and only Re-Sort fixes this.

Perhaps @Anonymous will provide a screenshot of Sorting on the Columns in a list view, to be helpful.
