Date off in 2017 QB Pro desktop

I've been a QB Desktop user for more years than I remember using 2017 version now of Pro.

For the last couple of month, or so, the date has been wrong in the software for everything from entering invoices, bills, payments etc. Pretty much all dated entries. I know of the small quirk where the date will stick on whatever you used last but this does not fix itself and stick properly.

Is this a new bug or a known issue?

It's great to see you here, @PaulMin,

I appreciate the in-depth information you shared in your post. This will help us narrow things down. Let's rectify this issue, so you don't get behind on your work.

To get started, we can try opening a sample file. I need to know if this is caused by a corrupted component of the software. Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to the File menu and select Close Company.
  3. On the No Company Open box, click the Open a sample file drop-down.
  4. Select the sample business that most closely matches your own.

If you're not getting the same problem on the test file, let's run the Verify/Rebuild Utility to fix data issues within the program. Here are the steps:

To Verify Data:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Tap Utilities then Verify Data.
  3. Click OK on the prompt.

To Rebuild Data:

  1. Click the File menu.
  2. Go to Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
  3. Hit OK to back up your company file.
  4. Wait until the Rebuild is complete.
  5. Click View Results.

If the same hurdle happens after rebuilding the file, I'd suggest running the Repair tool. This fixes corruption issues on the data file. Here's how:

  1. Reboot your computer and close all programs before repairing QuickBooks.
  2. Click on the Windows Start Menu button at the bottom left corner of your computer's screen.
  3. Choose Control Panel.
  4. Choose Programs and Features then select Uninstall a program.
  5. Click QuickBooks from the list of programs and choose Uninstall/Change.
  6. Select Continue, then Next.
  7. Choose Repair then click Next.
  8. Once the Repair is complete, click Finish.
  9. Restart your computer if prompted.

Please update me on how this goes or if you have additional questions about QuickBooks. I'm here to help you out. Have a good day!
