Default printer tray for sales order?

Is there a way to set a default printer tray when printing sales orders?  I'd like to use a different color paper for sales orders but don't want to have to manually select the copier tray each time.  Is there a setting in QB that can make this work?

Default printer tray for sales order?

Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community, kristi720. I'll ensure you can set a default printer tray when printing sales orders.

Yes, there is a way to set a default printer tray when printing sales orders. To do this, I suggest going to the Printer Setup window and you'll be able to choose a Sales order from there so you can begin setting up the settings.

Here's how:

  1. Click the File menu at the top.
  2. Choose Printer Setup
  3. Printer setup windows appear. Then, choose Sales order in the Form Name drop-down.
  4. Make sure the right printer is selected.
  5. Click the Options button. Then, the printer Properties window will show.
  6. If there is a tray set, you can pick the desired tray.
  7. Click OK and OK.

Additionally, in case the Printer Setup window does not open, you can open this article to see various several causes of this problem and how to fix them: When printing from QuickBooks, the Printer Setup window does not open.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see steps on how you can create a sales order from scratch or an estimate: Create a sales order.

I'll be around if you have other queries about printing setup in sales orders in QBDT software. I'd be more than happy to work with you, kristi720. Have a great day ahead!

Default printer tray for sales order?

Thank you for that information.  When I go through all those steps, it does not give me an option to pick a printer tray?

I'm glad to have you here again, kristi720

I'll help you pick a printer tray. If the printer has multiple trays, then the driver will give you the option to select a different one.

If not, try to use a different printer. Or download the full Printer Program to the computer so you'll have all the printer options and utilize it.
