Deposits going to wrong account

I'm doing QuickBooks for school using comprehensive Fall 2018 Edition and for some reason, of which I can't figure out half my sales receipts and a single invoice are going to the account postage which is not the correct area since they are supposed to go into pooch services. So far I have looked through some of the transactions and not a single thing would indicate it going to postage at least not that I can see so I tried deleting and making the transaction again and redoing the deposit but it still doesn't go to pooch service, instead going to postage again. I have spent at this point days on this and if I could get a better idea of where to look to get even one step closer to solving this problem no matter how tedious that solution is I would be happy to take it.

Deposits going to wrong account

Thanks for reaching out to us, @AnimeBiscuits.

I’m here to help you change the account from postage to pooch services.

Are you referring to the posting account of the transactions or the items in your invoices and sales receipts? I’m adding the steps to both below.

You can easily edit the incorrect posting account of the transactions in QuickBooks. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Accounting from the left menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Choose Postage account and click View register.
  3. Select the transactions in questions and click Edit
  4. Change the posting account in the Deposit to drop-down.
  5. Hit Save and close.

However, if you want to change the item’s posting income account, you can do so in the Products and Services window. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Products and Services.
  2. Select the item from the list and click Edit.
  3. Scroll down and in the Income account drop-down select Pooch Services.
  4. Hit Save and close.

Check out this article for more information: Change the account for a product/service item.

That should get you pointed in the right direction. Let me know if this works out for you, I’m more than happy to help. Take care!
