You can purchase QB Desktop 2024. Check with your bookkeeper, which year version do they have? Do they also have QB Desktop 2024?

There are different ways to upgrade your QBDT. You can do it with or without a subscription. 

When a new version of QuickBooks is available, you'll get a message when you open QuickBooks. We make it simple for you to upgrade.

Here's how to upgrade with a subscription:

1. When you’re ready, select Upgrade Now.
2. Select Keep old version on my computer if you want to keep your current QuickBooks. Then select Let’s go. QuickBooks downloads, installs, and activates the new version for you. It updates your company file(s).
3. When the upgrade is done, select Open QuickBooks.

And in terms of opening the file from a memory stick, would you mind sharing with us if there's any exact error shown?

Is there any advantage to upgrade out current Quickbooks?  We really don't want to upgrade to Quickbooks online unless we have to.

Why do you consider upgrading your version? If you don't have any specific concern, you should stick with your QBD 2019.
