Don't Print Zero Items Option Missing from Preferences

I go to Edit - Preferences - Sales & Customers and there is no option to select "Don't Print Zero Items".  I have looked into doing this before but we did not really have a huge need for it.  However, it seems that it would be beneficial now to have this option selected but it seems to be missing. I have looked into all the options under Preferences and do not see it anywhere.  Is that option no longer available? If no, how do I find it?

Thank you,

I don't think such an option exists.

Don't Print Zero Items Option Missing from Preferences

Hello there, @marba.

Thank you for dropping by here in the Community space. I can provide some clarification about the option you need in QuickBooks Desktop.

Yes, BigRedConsulting is right. An option not to print zero items under the Preferences is unavailable in the Desktop version.

You'll need to remove these items manually on your end. I can see how beneficial it would be to have this ability to automate the process and save time.

As we assess this, I recommend sending feedback to our product engineers. They constantly provide updates to improve QuickBooks based on user feedback.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  3. Hover your cursor to Send Feedback Online, then select Product Suggestion or Help System Suggestion.

Also, you can run reports and customize the data, add or delete columns, add or remove information on the header/footer, and even personalize the font and style of the report. I've attached an article you can check to learn more about personalizing reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Mention me if you have more questions managing the preferences or entering items in QuickBooks Desktop. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.
