E-mail addresses vanished

I'm on QB13, and after one of your tech supports remote'd into my computer yesterday, all of my e-mail addresses have dissapeared. Any suggestions how to get them back?

I'll help you restore the deleted info, easterntch.

Also, our tech support representatives are under strict guidelines when performing remote access. Part of the guideline is that phone agents are not allowed to to make any changes to the company file without the customer's consent.

If you happened to save a back up copy before the changes were made, you can restore it to bring back the data. Here's how to restore a back up copy:

  1. Go to the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.
  2. Select Restore a backup copy, then click Next.
  3. Select Local Backup and then Next.
  4. Browse your computer for your backup company file. It should look like this: [Your company name].qbb.
  5. Go to the folder where the file was saved. Then click on the backup copy and select Open.

Once restored, go back to the area where you saved the email addresses and check if they're back.

Keep me posted if you have other questions when restoring the file. We're always here to help you again.

Are you sure it was actually an Intuit technician?

v 2013 is an older, unsupported product, so an Intuit tech should not be remoting to do ANYTHING with that version.

There are some scam people that have been pretending to work for Intuit, and have wreaked some havoc on people's systems.

On an off chance, you may have list damage. Try resorting the master names list first.

If the information does not return, restoring a good backup may be the only option.
