Enter prior month contractor payment

We will be paying our contractors via DD thru QuickBooks Online Payroll starting this month.  I need to enter checks that were written on 1/31/22.  I cannot save a "Paper Check" with a date prior to today.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Enter prior month contractor payment

It's nice to have you here, @Midbell.

I want to make sure you're able to record your vendor transactions. Before anything else, may I know what error message are you getting when you record your contractor payments? This will help me out further with the resolution.

Normally, the system will allow you to enter past transactions in the program. If you can't, try to create the bill in a private window. Unexpected issues in QuickBooks are sometimes associated with the amount of data stored in the cache. This is because a regular browser will constantly overwrite itself and will not remove history unless done manually.

If you still can't update the payment boxes, access your account in a private browser. Doing so will not save any history, so it's a great place to identify issues in the browser. Use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If it works, clear the cache to resolve browser issues in QBO. You can also use a different browser and see if the issue persists there.
