When trying to add a square credit transaction to QB Online, I get this error:
Hello jmhjax,
Thanks for connecting to the QuickBooks Community! Let's go ahead and check to see if this is a browser-related issue.
Solution 1: Try logging in using private browsing. This method ensures that the browser would not be able to store cookies, history, or any form of data that could cause issues. Once completed, log in again, and add those Square transactions.
Solution 2: Clear cache. If it does work, this would indicate some form of data corruption. Depending on your browser, follow this link to clear those cache.
Let me know how that works out for you. I will be right here to assist further. See you soon.
Neither of these solutions worked. Still cannot ADD the 7 credit card transactions coming from Square dated 10-13-22 for $323.83.
Just ADDED two other days of credit card transactions from later dates, and they worked as expected. These two days of credit card sales then were able to be matched as expected to the credit card payment received the following day in our checking account.
Still need help with this issue.
I can see you’ve done your due diligence trying to get this resolved already, jmhjax.
I appreciate you for performing the steps provided by my colleague. Let's fix the error message by disconnecting the app in QuickBooks Online. This way, the connection will refresh. Here's how:
Then set up the Connect to Square app by re-connecting it and adding the square credit transaction again. If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting Square technical support. This way, they can review your app settings on what caused the problem. They can also provide other troubleshooting steps to help fix the issue. Just visit this link to reach them: Square Support Team.
Once fixed, go to the Banking page, choose the App Transactions tab, and categorize them. This way, your books will stay accurate at all times. You can check out this article: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks.
To ensure your financial data is accurate, I'd recommend reconciling your Square account. It will effectively monitor your income and detect any possible errors accordingly.
We'd be happy to hear any updates after performing the steps as we want to ensure this is resolved for you. Also, if you have questions about importing bak transactions, please add a reply below. I'd be happy to assist you further.
Hopefully you have found a solution for this by now. In case you haven't, I wanted to share what worked for me just now with this same error. I went into the "App Setting" where is says the bank account to deposit items. I selected a different bank account and clicked save. Then I selected the correct bank account and clicked save again. After that I was able to add the transactions again.
I appreciate you for sharing a workaround to achieve your goal @jnicoll45N.
Well done! I'm glad you were able to get to the bottom of this. We want to ensure our users are on top of their business.
I'll be one message away if you need anything else. I wish you a prosperous rest of the year!
Your solution worked WAY better than disconnecting/reconnecting. Thank you.
