I'll help you accomplish your task in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
For now, the option to include the estimate's number when copying to sales orders is unavailable in QuickBooks.
Although, you can create a custom field to add its number in the sales orders window. Let me show you how:
- Go to the Customers menu and select Customer Center.
- Double-click the name of any customer, then select Additional Info.
- Click Define Fields and create another label such as estimate number.
- Check the Cust column, then click OK.
- Select again OK to close the Customer window.
Once done, open any sales order and go to the Formatting section. Then, click Customize Data Layout and select Header. Look for the estimate number that you've created and check the Screen and Print boxes. Finally, click OK to save the template.
This should now add the estimate number field in your sales order.
Additionally, you can also send feedback to our developers. This way, they can review your suggestion to help improve our product and provide you a better QuickBooks experience. Here's how:
- Click the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.
- Choose Product Suggestion, then enter the details of your concern.
- Select Send Feedback and click Close Window.
Moreover, you can mark an estimate as inactive after using it. All you have to do is to open the transaction and click the Mark As Inactive button. Then, select Save and Close to save the changes. If you're getting prompt, simply click Yes to confirm.
