expense form not allowing tabbing

I used to be able to tab through the expense form to the fields I wanted.

Suddenly, I can tab through the top of the form (vendor, date, reference) but when I get to the first detail line, the tabbing is held up and I cannot get to the "category", description or amount for the first line.  If I continue to press TAB, I am eventually taken to the second line, but not the first.  As many of my vendors have expense accounts set up automatically, that means I have to reenter the expense account number.

I am able to click on the fields with my mouse, but not by tabbing.

This has been happening for a couple weeks .

Have I inadvertently changed a setting or is this a new bug?

Let's work together to ensure you can use tabs in choosing accounts for your expense, @dLearned.

There are times a browser is full of frequently accessed page resources causing websites, like QuickBooks Online (QBO), to act weirdly. And can be the reason why you're unable to use the Tab key in selecting line items for expenses.

To begin with, let's consider logging in to your QBO account using a private browser. To use a private or incognito browser, here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P
  • Edge: Ctrl Shift + N

If this works, it means you need to clear your browser's cache so the system can start fresh and you're now able to choose an account to create an expense. But if you get the same result while using a private browser, let's switch to different supported browsers instead.

Don't hesitate to post again here if you have other questions or concerns other than entering expenses. I'm always around and ready to help. Stay safe and take care always!

I also am experiencing this issues, new install. Account is recognized in the Banking tab, but will not import into the expense tab. Has a solution been reached?

No it did not work.

Neither did using a different browser.

I've used both Edge and Chrome, same result.

Only when I click into a field, rather than tabbing, does it allow entry on line one.

Again, this worked fine up until the beginning of April.

You are talking about tabs, as in a tab in an excel spreadsheet. The user is talking about the tab key on the keyboard. I also having this same issue and it is extremely frustrating.

Has anyone figured out how to correct this issue? I tried all the other suggestions and they do not fix the problem.

QB is aware of the issue.  They are supposedly looking into it.  We're all on hold, waiting, until they figure it out and fix it.
