Export POS files to QB online

Welcome to the Community, @Kylawhite73. I've got some information you need so you can move your data from QuickBooks Point of Sale to QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Point of Sale only links to the desktop versions. I'd suggest looking for a third-party app that can integrate with QBO. You can either go to the Apps menu or access them through the QuickBooks App Center

Here's how to find apps within QBO:

  1. Go to Apps from the left menu.
  2. Enter Point of Sale in the Search box.
  3. Select the app to open its profile. View the other apps by selecting them.
  4. Choose the right app for your business.
  5. Click Get app now

Alternatively, you can also move your data from POS to QBDT then migrate files from QBDT to QBO. Here’s an article for further guidance: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online

Also, I’m adding this guide here to learn more about the differences in how your books appear when hen moving data from QBDT to QBO: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

You can always reply or reach out to us again if you need anything else about managing your data. We're always here to guide and assist whenever you need help. Have a good one!

@Kylawhite73

Need to clarify your question. Would you rather stick with QB POS to connect to QBO or else?

In QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale, go to File > Utilities > Import. From the Data Import Wizard, select Next. Select the type of data to import then Next. Select Default template on how you want to import the data and open the Import Template. Select Next and follow the prompt.
