Have they fixed the issue with importing Inventory Assemblies yet?

Does anyone know if they ever fixed the issue of importing Inventory Assemblies yet. I am very upset as I work for a Manufacturing business and we have a majority of Inventory Assemblies! Yet when I tried to export as an IFF.File it is a big joke. When It tried to  import it only imported a small amout. I then decided to do an Advanced import and it does not recognize the Type - Inventory Assembly! How the heck can you call this Enterprise for Manufacturing but yet you don't provide the ability to import assemblies! This is going to take hours and hours of time to enter these assemblies. Had i know this I would have never recommended Quickbooks of any kind for Manufacturing. If you have an inventory driven company this program is a big joke. I will certainly spread the word about this as far and wide as I can. We pay a lot of money for this and yet it doesn't do what it is supposed to do!  What a big waste money. It is bad enough that we spent the money on the program and support, but now we have to pay for hours of manually re-entering the inventory! I have spent a ton of time so far trying to create a new company and now this! Extremely disgusted with this program and disgusted with most the the support I have received thus far!

Hello KarenHahn,

I hear your sentiments, and this isn't the kind of experience I want you to have. I can see how challenging it is for you and how important to have this feature added to the program.

Currently, we're unable to import assembly-type items in QuickBooks Desktop. For now, I recommend sending feedback and your insights about importing items. Please input a few details that make them aware of the other features you're looking for. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu in your company file.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online and choose Product Suggestion.
  3. Click the Type of Feedback drop-down arrow and select Product Suggestion.
  4. Choose Reports in the Product Area.
  5. You can then add brief information in the box.
  6. Enter your name and e-mail address.
  7. Then, click the Send Feedback button.

If you have suggestions or other feedback, feel free to post them. We'll take them as an opportunity to improve QuickBooks.

Sorry, but this is not a solution to my problem. I am so tired of hearing and seeing in this forum. " We are so sorry you are having these problems but we don't have that feature or our engineers are working on it". Quickbooks should not be offering this software to Manufacturers claiming it will handle Inventory for manufacturing. Very misleading and frankly down right deceitful! Had I known how lousy Quickbooks is in Manufacturing  software we would have never gone with Quickbooks Enterprise. We will be looking into other software options. I have already lost many, many hours with this program on top of the expense of paying for the program. I have used Quickbooks for about 20 years, primarily for typical accounting with payroll. If someone wants it for that it is fine, however I will do my best at spreading the word about how horrible a program it is for Manufacturing!

It may be time for you to switch to an ERP program. We can recommend two apps to explore. Another option, switch to QB Online or another similar app in the same class. But you will need a 3rd party manufacturing app to integrate with it.

And how many bazzillion dollars will that cost! Quickbooks already ripped us off with false advertising. As far as I am concerned Quickbooks should be giving us a refund for all the money we spent upgrading from Premier to Enterprise at their suggestion to manage our inventory!

Hi @KarenHahn

Our data import utility called Zed Axis that you can find in the Intuit Marketplace can import inventory assemblies into QuickBooks from Text, Excel or IIF files.  That may give you the soluition you are looking for.

No!

I am thoroughly disgusted with Quickbooks Manufacturing. I would never refer anyone to use it and would certainly warn them of the problems they will have if they do!

I appreciate you trying to recommend Zed Axis...it looks like it would maybe work. I would certainly have to do a trial because seeing is believing, however our desktop is on Rightnetworks. (recommended by the Intuit sales person to us for hosting Quickbooks Enterprise Manufacturing edition)

Rightnetworks does not allow this program on their network! This seems odd to me considering it is on Intuits Marketplace.
