Buy nowI have been a loyal user of Quickbooks Desktop for probably close to 20 years now (at least 15 I can tell you that). I have just about lost my faith in them as a company as of today after spending 7+ hours on the phone with them only to try and push the problem to someone else.
Short version: We run Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise Contractor 23 edition. All was working fine, but we started having issues with QB freezing when going into the Employee Center and running some reports. Called QB support, have done clean installs, full reset updates, etc. It is clearly a data file issue, but they seem to be convinced it is an issue of the software "not getting updates" (even though we have done clean installs and all updates show as installed, and an F2 screen shows the correct up to date version). The last phone call, after 2 1/2+ hours, they simply said that there must be a "setting" somewhere preventing QB from updating. Nothing has changed in our network at all, QB is what has changed. They have instructed me to call our IT people and tell them "something is preventing QB from getting updated" which, if anyone knows anything about computers, is a joke because they won't point me in any direction to look for something (such as certain IP addresses or domains being blocked, etc.) and our IT people will probably say you need to call QB as it is their software.
I am curious if anyone else has run into this problem of QB freezing and how it was resolved, or what "something" they had to change on their network to allow these mysterious updates to happen. QB says updates were all installed. I've moved it to multiple machines, all have the same issue which simply reinforces to me that this is a data file issue not the base software issue.
Any help is truly appreciated as I'm at my whit's end here and don't want to have to make another 2+ hour phone call that goes around in circles again with support staff simply following a script for the easy to solve problems instead of trying to resolve an actual problem.

How big is your file size?
Your file size should work fine in QBD Enterprise. Try these steps:
1. Create a backup file and restore it with a new name.
2. If the same problem persists, run the Condense Data utility to reduce the size and isolate the root cause.
3. Last resort, ask a third-party service provider to check your company file.
