how do I access my account info after a year of cancellation

Hi there, @peakdeli. I'm happy to share information about how QuickBooks Online (QBO) data works when you cancel your account.

QBO data is only available within a year after the cancellation date. After that, your account will be deleted, and viewing it is no longer an option. Within the grace period, it's recommended to export your lists and reports to Excel for your future use.

 Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Tap on Export data under Tools.
  3. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
  4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  5. Tap Export to Excel.

You may also open this link for more information: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

If you need to recover or access your data after a year of cancellation, you need to contact support for this. From there, they can pull up your account securely and provide the details you need.

  1.  Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Tap on Contact us.
  4. Enter a brief description of your concern.
  5. Choose a way to connect with a live representative.

On the other hand, you can open this article for more tips about data availability and export policies after cancelation: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?

Please don’t hesitate to provide a comment below if you have other concerns. I'll be right here to help. Have a great day!

how do I access my account info after a year of cancellation

Hello Angelyn_T,

Thank you for your clear reply to my question: I understand your instructions perfectly.

Unfortunately, while that does work, it's much more difficult than creating the splits in the Receipt view because when doing so in the Banking view, you cannot see the details on the receipt that are necessary to see what items were purchased and then to assign a category and dollar figure for each.

I suppose a work-around for this is to have QBO open in two tabs, one tab displaying the Banking page and the other tab the Receipt so that the data necessary to enter the appropriate splits in Banking is visible on the Receipt tab.

Thanks for your help,

Chuck

Hi there, @czissman.

You're most welcome! I appreciate you taking the time to let us know that the solution given by my colleague was able to help you. I also applaud you for following the suggestions given and using all of your resources to come up with the solution you have right now.

Moreover, I commend you for sharing a workaround to view the receipt details. I understand the importance of being able to see the details of the receipt to see the items purchased in the Banking view. However, it is still unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

That said, I recommend leaving feedback to notify our software engineers about the feature you need. In this way, they can take it into account for future product improvements.

To send your input, here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
  3. Type in your suggestion and click Next.

Additionally, I'll also share this link where you can search for articles that can serve as your reference to guide you in managing your QBO account: QuickBooks Online Help Articles.
