They are most annoying. Why QB's thinks its ok to do this sort of thing in a program we are paying for is beyond me . It just makes a so-so app even worse and difficult to work with. Think I'll go back to Xero or some other more user friendly service!!!
There shouldn't be any adds at all pop up or otherwise. It is ridiculous! If you want to keep us as customers you need to stop!
Just setting up the company with QBO and am already sick of the popups. I spent well over an hour trying to find out how to since a lot of the treads either had another version or a past version and the paths were not the same. Now I find out this is just for external popups....who does not already have these in check? Since I, luckily I guess, have little skin in the game I will look at options. The constant upsell is just baffling. It is one thing while filing out my taxes once a year to be asked at least a half dozen times if I want to pay more for the same thing "asked and answered" but WOW. The double speak and lack of admission of the glaring problem does them more damage in PR. This was intentionally designed to be this way, just look at Turbotax.
I'm very interested in the accounting programs you find. I am completely fed up with QuickBooks. I have Desktop version and I can't get rid of a popup that insists I try Quickbooks Online. There is no X and no "No Thanks," only a "Maybe Later" as you can see by the attached screenshot. It won't budge no matter what I do and it takes up a good up a good 1/8 of my screen. I PAY for this service. I don't expect pop up ads from QuickBooks or anyone else. Don't give me that garbage about enhancing my experience. You are trying to sell Online accounts. Your technical support is horrible, too. I've been with QuickBooks for over 20 years. Not the same company I started with.
This is a shame really. When I first started using QBO, it was excellent. Did everything I needed it to do, made billing and accounting easy and I was able to do it from home, my office, my phone or my tablet. My bookkeeper and accountant were particularly pleased. It also aided in revenue collection at a much quicker pace with the online email invoicing and merchant account. The subscription seemed a little spendy to me, but I was willing to pay a a premium for the convenience. At some point though the predatory advertising started and it has been relentless ever since. The ads that keep coming up urging me to get Quickbooks Cash or "get paid sooner for a mere 3% ... ", it comes up with every.single.invoice. I am having to decline that stupid prompt a dozen times a day. They had a good thing going. Seems to me they are just getting greedy.
As recommended, I posted a feedback request on the site.

After doing about 5 minutes of research I have discovered there are countless websites singularly devoted to "Something better than Quickbooks"
I would think if you were Quickbooks, something like that might give you at least a moment's pause. However, I figure this is akin to cable companies or even the old days of AT&T and long distance service. You have to have it, there's no one else doing it, and they have a virtual monopoly on it. There's simply no impetus to do better or compete.
I am sure there is a former-frat-boy MBA ivy-league grad CEO of Intuit laughing all the way to the bank over this stuff.
Not only are they not going to fix it, I predict it will get worse. They are going to squeeze and squeeze until they can't squeeze any more and then ... they'll squeeze some more anyway.
I am sure you are 100% correct. I am hoping someone will come along and say " This XYZ program is what I use now and it works great" The amount of effort to convert to a new program and learn the new program is too much for me to switch without being sure.
Quickbooks already takes my money so stop trying to shove more sales down my throat! Turn off the dang popups!
I have done this but they still rise from oblivion to piss me off. We've already chosen to use your stuff. If we wanted to know more, we'd have communications turned on. You're just finding ways around our choice.
I have QB online as well and the popups every login are useless and block half my screen. I hate this software, always have. The QB 13 was somewhat better. Good job QB.
This has been suggested over and over again, It does not work for internal pop ups with in quick books.
Can you please get rid of the new popup that blocks the phone number input when you are entering in a customers information. It pops up every single time and is completely pointless causing a delay to add in information. Why do you guys add so many annoying popups and stuff in a paid product?
Intuit is more interested in making more money than in offering valuable tools for its users. I have been a QBO user for 2 years now. I have a 30-day payment term with one of my clients and send invoices to this client frequently. Recently QBO is offering an option to receive the payment now with a 3% deduction, I have negotiated hard to up the price by 1% for that 30-day payment term, so no thanks. So far I have done a good job to select 'No Thanks' every time that annoying popup window comes up at the end, it is annoying since I was nervous to mistake the green button for 'save and send'. I was given peace of mind for a long interval, but with the second campaign for the same ad within the last 12 months, I can hardly accept the fact the technical department is working 'non-stop' on the issue - to me it seems that it is very easy for them to turn on or off the ad pop-up window, like flipping a switch.

Yes,
Also the phone support staff needs to be replaced it seems to be some strange robot / human hybrid that never has any good answers to any important questions.
There will be no resolution to this as they are making more from advertising than they are monthly memberships. Canceling service . ad blocker is on, no way to press X on them.
This is not working. THIS IS SUPER ANNOYING! Why dont you guys just spam call all of your clients while your at it!!
Tell someone at Quickbooks to pull their head out!
As a software consultant and annoyed QBO user, I am very happy to help you outsmart QB engineers.
Here's how to block their silly little ad system.
Thanks a lot!
Hello Rootwork IT,
I have reviewed the workaround, and it's correct and accurate. Thank you for sharing your input to help address the issue.
We love to see members supporting one another! Have a great day.
Member supporting members is great. Anyway we can get the company intuit to support members also by acknowledging all of the complaints and changing the software as we all desire? Companies supporting members can be great also.
This is a horrible solution. Ad blockers distupt some of the normal functionality of quickbooks online. I have to leave both of my adblockers disabled when using QBO or the software will not load correctly from time to time.
That sounds like it may work. It’s a shame you have to use 3rd party software to fix QuickBooks marketing intrusion software. I already found better software than QuickBooks from a vendor that appreciates their customers.
You guys need to stop posting this canned response and just acknowledge that intuit does not care at all about our concerns. After all we are going into 3+ years of complaints about this issue. You should admit to people that the correct solution is to find a different software company because intuit does not care about their complaints.
