It seems like I can't switch to a page without some annoying pop for Payments (Which I will never use for my business - it is not a fit at all) and just now, "How to stay ahead of inflation" - WTF? I am trying to work, not search for more ways to spend money or waste time. Please tell me if there is a way to turn this off?
I hear you, @tzujan.
I'll share insights about turning off popup ads in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to turn off popups in QBO. For now, let's consider clicking the X or No thanks option to get rid of them.
While these in-product advertisements no longer help your working experience, I recommend letting our product developers know about this by sending a request via feedback. I'll show you how.
I'm including our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page to track the status of your request and get the latest updates from our developer team. Updates such as how the recent enhancement made to QBO helps our small business owners, like you.
It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other questions aside from managing ads in QuickBooks. Use the Reply button and leave your comment below so that I can assist you further. Take care always, @tzujan!
Regrettably, you are soon to discover this has been an ongoing issue and source of consternation to QB users that has gone unaddressed for several years now. You are also likely the find the 'canned' reply you received on every other thread that has raised this issue.
I have posted about it before and I will concede for a very brief moment it appeared as though the pop up ads had stopped.
However, they have returned with a vengeance. Last week I was composing roughly 12-20 invoices I send out monthly among my tenants and each time I opened a 'Reminder' template, I was bombarded with numerous pop up ads ... "Smart Tip for 2023 ... Get it Funded ... Spend Less Time on Manual Data Entry ... " and so forth. That was virtually every time I started an invoice. The only options available to me "Maybe Later" or "Buy Now"
Their own internal advertising and up-selling methods have becoming a shameless impediment to using the software that we all already pay for. Alas, this is what a virtually monopoly gets us. There is absolutely no incentive for Intuit to alter their practices.
In researching "how to turn off the annoying popup ads" I found this response from the QB "team". Basically, contact the program developers yourself...here's how. WTF?? Aren't you all on the same team? How about the response be, "I will be happy to forward your request and get them to work on it" as there has been hundreds, if not thousands, of people requesting this to stop happening! Seriously....one pop up is enough as repeatedly annoying us with your ads does NOT encourage the users to make the bigger leap into your already overly priced programs. Maybe it's time for Intuit to actually start listening to their clients, you know, the ones that made you rich to begin with. Your company is now being run like the US government. A sh!t show.
