Can someone please walk me through how to create year end donation statements by customer? I've read several blogs/feedback and it appears that if you are using Quickbooks desktop non profit there is no standard feature. The reason our church selected this product because they stated they had this feature. If this feature is not available, we will have to use another product.
There is no version of QB that will create proper donor statements. Various solutions have been attempted, but none work properly IMO.
Instead, use our BRC Donor Statements app. It'll create exactly what's required.
Is there any way to generate year end donation letters with Quickbooks for Mac. BRC only works for windows.
Hello Yadlyad,
I'm here to help provide some clarification on your question regarding year-end donation letters in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Right now, the ability to generate donation letters is unavailable in the Mac version. You can try searching for third-party apps that'll allow you to create the donation letters.
For now, I recommend sending feedback directly to our Product Developers. Please know our updates depend on the suggestions we received from the users.
That said, I encourage you to visit this link and submit your feedback:

I've gone through the procedures to generate the contribution statement but I'm unable to populate the statement with the detail found in the customer by detail report. It'll show the name and address but it will not populate the payment information and the balance column of the statement. What am I doing wrong?
Hi there, powerwalk3-gmailcom.
You can pull up the Customer Balance Detail report instead. This report will show the customer’s name, payment and balance. You can also click the Customize Report tab at the top then add the address name column under Display tab. This is to show the customer’s address in the report.
Here’s how to run the report:

RE: What am I doing wrong?
Nothing actually. QB won't do what you need it to do.
Instead, use the BRC Donor Statements - Desktop app to create your statements (or the BRC Donor Statements - QB Online for QB Online.)
Just checking to see if anyone has been able to solve this issue. If we can't track and generate year end donation letters this will be my final year with QB. Such a basic function.
Thanks for following up about year-end donation letters in QuickBooks, @DPSDLS.

You can do it, though QB won't do it directly from within the app.
Instead, use our BRC Donor Statements - Desktop or BRC Donor Statements - QB Online apps, depending on your QB version.
I'm very frustrated. I had QuickBooks Desktop version and was able to create donor letters. It appears we can't do that with QuickBooks Online. I had no choice but to move to QBO, because the desktop version was no longer supported. It costs more money and we lose key features???? Why hasn't QuickBooks done something about this? To be able to create these letters it looks like you are suggesting we buy a plug in from Big Red Consulting, and it costs 79.00 minimum. This stinks! Has anything changed on this, am I missing something?
I appreciate you chiming the thread, @ERRBC.
