Hi there, @lee-valleyelectr.
As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to create a purchase order and use its related functions while logged in on the mobile application. It is recommended to enter your purchase orders and link them to a job by logging in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a web browser.
Therefore, I'm adding this article to learn more about how you can enter purchase orders: Create and Send Purchase Orders in QuickBooks Online.
While the option is not yet available, it's best to let our product developers know about your request by sending feedback. This way, the program, and system design can be improved concerning the option to enter purchase orders on a mobile app. I'll show you how.
I'm including our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page to track the status of your request and get the latest updates from our developer team. Updates such as how the recent enhancement made to QBO helps our business owners, like you.
It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other questions aside from working with purchase orders in QuickBooks. Use the Reply button and leave your comment below so that I, @JonpriL, can assist you further. Take care always and stay safe!
You need a 3rd party app to do so.
Has this been sorted yet, it’s 2024 ? Can a raise a PO, a completely normal and simple thing from my phone.
Welcome to the Community, shaun. I'll share insights about generating purchase orders (PO) in the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Mobile App.
Currently, the option to create a purchase order using your QuickBooks Online (QBO) Mobile App is unavailable. I acknowledge the benefit of making this available on mobile applications to make transactions handy for your business.
The feature may not be available for now, I suggest sending this suggestion to our product development team. Our product developers are responsible for evaluating and implementing new enhancements, so they would be better equipped to determine the feasibility and benefits of your suggestion for our users:
For now, we can create your purchase orders by logging into your QBO company file on a web browser. Moreover, use this article as a reference in running PO reports to ensure that orders are accurately processed, and deliveries are timely: How to run purchase order reports.
Keep me posted if you have additional queries about managing transactions on the mobile app. The Community always has your back. Take care!
I dont think the developers will ever allow to create PO from the phone app. People been asking for that option for YEARS and they still wont program it. I stop asking long time ago “when this will be available?” I ask now “why you never allowed it? What is the logic of no allowing us to create PO directly from the mobile app? (Please dont redirect me to the “how to create a PO from Safari on an iPhone or Chrome from an Androide phone).
The question now is “what is the logic or analysis behind the idea of not allowing us to create PO from the phone APP?” Can you ask the developers and the tell us what they told you?
I really wish quickbooks had any form of developer product manager support in the UK, either that or rename it to "slow books that half works"
And only in ideal circumstances.
and not for modern businesses.
and not on mobile
also if some one sends you a credit note get ready to waste an hour of your life.
or project management that has no ability to tell you the profitability of a job until after all expences and invoices are put on......
or god forbid you could work out what a bill is compared to a recipt or an expense.
and if I see one more 'please select an account for that transaction' message when putting on a simple quote or invoice im going to return to paper.... No quickbooks..... I don't care about your stupid error messages that stop me working, I just want to invoice some one with out having to reverse engineer your crappy error messages.... Turns out that 'please select an account for that transaction' means, select a product category.
Or... what if I want to change an estimate when a customer asks to change or add something but then quickbooks unlinks all the connected invoices from the estimate because a value has changed.... OMG... kill me now...
its a shameful mess of a company...
I just wish it was easy to move off it... Ah Well..
Ill go back to struggling on in the world of business battling governments, customers and my accounts software...
