How dp I show a complete running balance for each line item on the bank register vs n/a in the balance column which I don't want?

Hi there, carly2015-.

I'd be happy to help you get to the bottom of this and make sure you're able to see the balances you're looking for.

To clarify, are you referring to the Accounts in your Chart of Accounts when you say line items? If so, you'll want to pull up the General Ledger report instead of the Bank Register.

With this report, you'll be able to view the complete running balance of each account. Allow me to walk you through the steps on how to pull it up:

  1. Click Reports in the left navigation menu.
  2. In the Search field, enter General Ledger and select the result once it shows up.
  3. Change the Report period as necessary.
  4. Click Run report.

Don't hesitate to let me know if this isn't quite what you're looking for. I've got you covered and am always happy to help you out. Thanks for reaching out, I look forward to hearing from you again.

It's still located in the Reports menu, CarynSilvius.

Let me show you the easy steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Go to the Reports menu.
  3. Hover to Accountant and Taxes.
  4. Select General Ledger
  5. Click the Customize Report button to filter and pull up the data you need.
  6. Select OK

You can also save the report so you don't need to filter it again. Just click the Memorize button at the menu. Memorized reports are now moved in the Memorized Report List.
