I have tried getting through to Intuit support.......no success......just like everyone else is saying. Does anyone know what is required, in order to change our payroll period. Example: we are currently running payroll every week.........Wednesday- Tuesday, with pay day on Friday's. We are changing to Monday-Friday and paying on Fridays. Can we just change that without notification to Intuit? We do our taxes, Fed, State and quarterlies through Intuit. Will this mess up our year end reports since we are changing mid cycle rather then doing it at the beginning of the calendar year? Really appreciate anyones immediate help!!! We are desperate to find answers and Intuit obviously does not supply support any longer.
Hi there, Hound.
Can you tell us what happens every time you reach out to our Payroll Support Team? This is definitely not the experience that we want you to have when needing help from us.
If you're using the Intuit Online Payroll Full Services subscription, you need to get in touch with our Payroll Support Team. All changes to your account need to be documented since Intuit pays and files the taxes for you. Use this article as a guide on how to reach out to them: Contact Payroll Support.
If you have Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced, you can change the schedule without notifying us. Here's how:
First, create a new pay schedule
Second, assign the employee to the new pay schedule
Lastly, delete the old pay schedule. Make sure you don't have any employees assigned to it so you can remove old one.
Also, QuickBooks follows cash accounting for payroll reports. This means that taxes and payroll expenses are reported on the pay date, regardless of the work period. Check out these articles for more details:

Hi Hound,
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about editing the pay period. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
The Understanding Constructive Receipt link is broken...can you resend?
I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the broken link for constructive receipt. It can be frustrating when you can't access the necessary information, Heather DC. I'm here to share insights about this.
Currently, the Understanding Constructive Receipt link is no longer available. However, to give you an overview, the IRS defines constructive receipt as "when an amount is credited to your account or made available to you without restriction.
According to the constructive receipt doctrine, income is considered received when it is made available to the taxpayer, regardless of whether they have actually taken possession of it. This means that if income is credited to your account, set aside for you, or made available for you to use, it is generally considered constructively received and subject to taxation.
You'll want to refer to the IRs Publication 538 for the latest information.
