How to combine two projects into one?

I have two projects with the same name and I want to merge the two together so that all the transactions are consolidated.

How do you do this?

To be clear: they are 2 different projects (not customers, not accounts, etc.)

How to combine two projects into one?

I can think of two ways to merge two different projects in QuickBooks Online, @mipa718. Let me share more details about it.

As of right now, the ability to merge projects is unavailable in QBO. You can manually copy the transaction information of the project you wish to merge and enter them into the ones you want to keep.

Alternatively, you can export the project report to Excel and combine the projects from there. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Projects tab.
  2. Locate and open the project that you want to export.
  3. Click on the Project Reports button.
  4. Select View on the Project profitability area.
  5. As needed, edit any information.
  6. Once ready, click on the Export icon from the top right of the report. (See the image below for reference.)

I too need to merge two projects. I see the response below but wanted to see if any changes have occurred since, where there is a feature to merge projects as easily as customers.

Thank you for joining this conversation, Christopher. I'm here to provide you with an update regarding the feature that allows you to merge projects.

I understand how having a direct option to merge your projects would be beneficial for you. As of now, the ability to merge two or more projects in QuickBooks Online remains unavailable.
