I have two scenarios that I can think of when you want to download the 1099 file to submit to the state, Jenny.
If Wisconsin uses the same format that QuickBooks Online (QBO) uses when it's downloaded, you can follow the steps outlined below.
On the other hand, if your state is using a different format, you'll want to contact the IRS or your state so they can provide you with the correct form to use. To learn how to print payroll forms, check this article so you'll know what other option you can use instead of Form 1096 and gives you more details on how to print your 1099: Print Your 1099 And 1096 Form.

Thank you Maria for the reply. What I am looking for is the IRS Formatted 1099 file to download so I can upload it to the WI DOR Website; not the actual forms. I do not see that there is a download feature for the IRS formatted file to download. On other platforms, I would download the IRS file and tweak it to submit to WI DOR. Do you know if there is an option for this? I do know that I can manually enter them into the WI DOR website if need be, but thought I would ask first. Thanks again.
Let me share some information about filing your 1099 forms with your state agency, Jenny04.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't support the filing for 1099 for states and providing a formatted downloaded file for uploading to WI DOR is unavailable. In this case, it would be best to consult your state to provide you with the correct form to use and the right format when submitting the 1099. For more information, contact the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
