How to fix banking errors? An amount is either too large (> 99,999,999,999) or too small (< -99,999,999

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to get this sorted out, ra-towingservice.

There are several possible causes why overflow occurs. Among these are:

  • An account balance or other field in your company file has an amount greater than $9,999,999,999,999.99.
  • The format you are copying from an Excel spreadsheet does not match a format that is accepted by QuickBooks.
  • When a large quantity on a Group Item is changed to another large quantity, overflow can appear next to the Group's component items.
  • An Inventory item with a value that is too large for the number of items. e.g., a quantity of 1 and a value of $18,000,000.
  • Damaged transactions in your company data file.

The first step in fixing this would be to perform a Rebuild on your Company File. This is super easy and only takes a few moments. Check it out:

  1. Go to File, then UtilitiesRebuild Data.
  2. If you receive a warning message to backup your Company File, hit OK.
  3. Click OK when you see a message about the Rebuild being complete.

For other troubleshooting steps to resolve overflows, just follow the steps and details in the Overflow in the QuickBooks Desktop article.

I appreciate you sharing a screenshot of the error received, @Imad Riaz. But don't worry, I've come to help fix this error so you can continue working with your journal entries and get back to business.

One of the possible reasons why you're getting the An amount is either too large or too small error is that the browser you're using had a data issue. To get rid of it, let's log in to your QuickBooks Online account via a private browser. To do so, press this shortcut key on your keyboard:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If this works, it means that you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

You may want to reverse or delete a created journal entry. This article will help you through the process: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how things go, @Imad Riaz. I'll be around to provide further assistance.
