I have NO integrated applications and I STILL get those irritating "log in" emails.

If QB really cared about their customers, we would be talking on the phone to representatives. The only time that we can call QB is to get more services.  I'm sick of hearing/seeing "No phone call required!" I should say"No phone call accepted!" I am desperately searching for a replacement program. Even thinking about going to paper books just to get rid of QB! I really have come to hate QB!

BUT i bet that you will have to log in to post your complaint!

Thanks Andy... Maybe different versions behave differently, but I was stuck last year on QBPro 2020 Desktop too. We can stop (for 90 days or so) the local account login, but that insistant Intuit login to their servers was nasty. For a while alt-F4 on that window helped for a week or so, then it became persistent. I do not want to log in to Intuit servers, with or without my data.
Our own community 'hack' at firewall level has been the only solution so far, and was even recommended by an Intuit employee here... . 

We have been talking for the best part of a year and Intuit staff have not really shown interest in helping us, or understood us.
Typical messages have been like this is for your safety... which we do not understand. I suspect this is a hidden program validation connection, as most are 'online' applications, yet we all buy QB Desktop for the offline features, which does not seem to be understood by Intuit.  

One day, the engineers might hear our cries.

@AndyTJ Yup... it is there, but enabling it does not stop the window demanding I log in to my Intuit online account. I closed the company, restarted the program... nada...

I don't know if this makes a difference Flyingkiwi, and it probably won't, but this was my sequence of events: With the preferences set to "Always ask for password before connecting" I signed in to my account, then went to preferences and changed it to "Automatically connect without asking for a password", Then restarted Quickbooks, went to company, my company and signed out. Restarted the program and it hasn't asked me to "sign in" again.

I think we are agreeing on the same thing. I was replying as a mention to your comment but directed to QB. We do not want to connect intuit account to quickbooks. I attempted to call intuit and spent over an hour on the phone with them and got no where, they spent like 15 minutes just trying to authenticate who I was before even helping. 443 is https traffic on your machine, if you secure 443 you can't access websites that require secure traffic ie google.com which is https. If you manage to use some sort of application filtering or something and secure even with the destination address in the firewall your still going to get the intuit account login simply because it has to make connection to the intuit server to link or create an account and if not it will just give error, you can prove this by just unplugging the ethernet cable from the back of the machine to make the machine offline and testing, it will come up require you to login or create and account and then will bounce back with an error or just disappear but come back again later or even worse will accept the credentials as you being offline and on next online connection will send forwarth the connection at that time. 

Per quickbooks support they do not have a way to circumvent these settings as it is coded to the program unfortunately, if anyone finds a work around or a cheat or QB/Intuit themselves comes up with an alternative I would certainly like to know. 

Mrylant89 did you mean Andy instead of Tony? It seems, like I said, your jumping through a lot of hoops to circumvent Inuit's servers. This forum is "How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account". Whether you know it or not Quickbooks has been signing you into their servers automatically every time you start their program for many years.

@Mrylant89 The blocking of TCP port 443 is not a global block, just on the two Quickbooks .exe files outgoing.

Your explanation just confuses as we disagree with you. I have never logged in to Intuit from my company program. When the login requests began to come I canceled them, when I could not cancel any more I used alt-F4 to close the window, which gave a 7 day breather. A later software update wanted me to do this every time I opened my file. I still closed the window.

By tracking the firewall traffic I found the outgoing requests were all using 443. Set up your firewall to block outgoing requests on the two QB program files, TCP port 443 and you will not receive a login window (until Intuit change it again)

For now my data is secure on my PC, and the only complication seems to be (for me) emailing invoices from Gmail GSuite needing permission for "insecure" email access. 

I have been using Quickbooks for more than 20 years and do not want to give up on something I know how to use. This, however has been frustrating.

this is unbelievable! I just run through this issue & I thought it's only me but apparently a lot of people have this pop-up issue & I feel like the intuit/QB deliberately would create this issue for everyone who buy this software to sell you an update version to make money. I see it nothing but a big fat SCAM!

Don't know if anyone has made this suggestion in the past, but I found a work around for the original question about stopping the Intuit Account popups.  Actually quite simple, but takes some self-discipline and a willingness to think out of the technology box.  All you have to do is this:  before opening Quickbooks, disconnect from the internet.  That's it. 

I routinely use QB on a computer that is offline for all but once a week when I briefly enter the internet abyss to update and then quickly get out. I toggle between about 10 companies, and never get asked that annoying Intuit question.  Everything that requires me to be connected (email, research, etc.) is done on a separate computer.  The only reason I even looked at this question is to see if they had come up with a more direct solution.  Apparently not.

I have read through all of these responses and it appears that Quickbooks literally has no idea of the actual issue being complained about at all. NO ONE WANTS TO LOGIN TO QUICKBOOKS ONLINE!  Telling people they can choose to leave their account full of all of their financial information logged on to an offsite Intuit server for 90 days is absurdity given WE DO NOT WANT TO LOGIN EVER!  How do we turn off the forced (every 7 days) request to login to YOUR servers, not our own?  Hoping to see a class action lawsuit against this soon as it is definitely not safe, goes against anti-trust laws and is not what we consumers purchased.  If we wanted the online version, wanted to log on to YOUR servers, wanted to TRUST your security measures, we would have purchased the online version.  We purchased the software version which resides on our desktops, on our own servers and is protected by our own security measures.

HOW DO WE STOP BEING ASKED EVERY 7 DAYS TO LOG IN.....WE NEVER WANT TO LOGIN.....NOT IN 90 DAYS, NOT IN 60 DAYS......NEVER.

Why do I need security from Intuit when I have the desktop version?  With the desktop version, we are responsible for our own security and we like it that way.  It is VERY intrusive of Intuit to insist we log into Intuit when we have a desktop version.  I was just told by an account that Intuit is now going to charge a membership fee for desktop users annually. You won't be able to use the product in a new year until that fee is paid.  And that is the real reason behind the Intuit insistence we log in to Intuit as desktop users.  Is this true? 

I agree with that user.  I am a single user of the Quickbooks file.  I don't use online Quickbooks services.  But I still get that blasted log into Intuit screen.  CHANGE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted this question 10 months ago and Intuit, you have not solved the issue and in fact during that time have doubled-down on trying to get Desktop users to log into your servers.  This is not an option for me.  I do the books for a non-profit organization that requires me to not expose their financials to the Internet.  If QB succeeds in making me connect the software to the Internet, I am required to stop using the product.

So, Intuit, are you a company that is going to support the large number of users who purchased the Desktop version of QB in order not to connect the software directly to the software provider and who wish to otherwise closely control and severely limit all access to the Internet that might expose their data to prying eyes?  There are currently 246 comments in this thread and hundreds, if not thousands, of kudos/cheers.  A sizeable number of your customers want this issue solved and many are thinking of finding other software to use if you are not willing to solve the problem.  If you are committed to supporting our needs,  please respond to this thread and give us a timeframe for when this issue will be solved.

If Intuit as a company is moving away from supporting a true Desktop version of QB without direct connection to Intuit, please consider providing your Desktop users with a migration path to another company's software that supports a true standalone accounting system.  This involves working with the other company to make sure the chart of accounts, vendors and transaction history can be exported from QB and imported into the other product to save valuable user time in setting up the new accounting system.  I am a DBA and can vouch that setting up these sort of utilities is a not-uncommon integration task and is not rocket science.  The other company might be willing to create or fund the creation of these utilities in expectation of increased sales from QB encouraging/helping a portion of their Desktop customers migrate.  Please consider this and again, please let your users know if this is a possibility by responding to this thread.

As I mentioned, I do not have a choice - I am required to not connect the organization's financials to the Internet.  If we have not heard from you re: Intuit's plans to support or not support a true Desktop QB by mid-April, it would best serve many of the people following this thread if we transform the thread into a forum sharing alternative software products that actually meet the needs of those who require a product safe from the Internet (and remember, any connection of the accounting software to another server via the Internet is not inherently safe).

So I have spent all day reading the forum and trying to deal with this problem that QB Desktop users are being FORCED to create an Intuit Account and log into the online account as well as their local company file with separate passwords and permissions.  Intuit tries to sell it as a security upgrade which is a flat out lie.  If you refuse to do so, after awhile Intuit actually LOCKS YOU OUT OF YOUR COMPANY FILE.  There used to be a work around by pressing Alt-F4 but after it was posted in this forum, the next update disabled the ability to do that.  This means, of course, that this is a deliberate move by QB to force everyone into a subscription of the product and so that they can force you to pay.  They are literally holding companies hostage until they give in.

Thanks to @Flyingkiwi @NoForcedAcct @Fibrepunk for the work around.  That is to go into the advanced settings of Windows Defender (or whatever firewall you are using) and specifically block the outbound port 443 for both QBW32.EXE and QBW32PRO.EXE (or QBW32PREMIUM or whatever version you are using, the second file is in the same directory as the first) programs.  This solution is posted on page 7 of this thread, posted by Fibrepunk on  ‎December 27, 2020 03:30 AM

In my case, I do not want to get any more updates from QB because I don’t want them to break this workaround so I have disabled qbupdate.exe in the startup (Ctrl-L Shift-esc then Startup) and I disabled the Intuit QuickBooks FCS service in the Services list.  This service also does background QB updates.  This means I should never get another update, but I’m fine with that.  What I have works for me.  Intuit will never get another dime from me, unfortunately.

They are also not considering those of us who do not have internet.  It is available (but not the most reliable) at my office location, but I cannot get internet at home.  I always update with a CD so that I can install and use QB on my home computer.  But I see from previous replies here that I will now be locked out of the file if not connected to the internet.

I have MAC and this integrated applications is not listed under the edit menu.  I desperately want to shut this off.  Every time I contact Intuit it is like going down a rabbit hole of anxiety and frustration as NOTHING is easy to find or navigate and it such a waste of time.  Do you know how to do this on a mac?  I do NOT want to log in to my intuit account to use my desktop software.
