Let me guide you on how you can edit your vendor information while filing 1099, Agarwal.
But before we start, are you getting any errors when trying to edit the vendor? We can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequent access to web pages or is damaged.
When this happens, it causes odd behavior when adding or editing vendor information. To better isolate this issue, let's sign in to QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a private or incognito window. This helps us confirm browser-related issues since this mode doesn't use the existing cache data. Use the shortcut keys below:
Once done, if it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. We can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.
On top of that, learn how you can add a contractor or change an amount when you create a 1099. I've added this article for more information: Troubleshoot Missing Contractors Or Wrong Amounts On 1099s.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other concerns when editing vendor information. Remember, the Community is always right here to help you 24/7.
I have tried clearing cache and using incognito sessions. I've also tried several different browsers on a Mac and on a PC. I am in the Payroll - Contractors sections and I am able to edit the vendor info, however the system will not save any changes. When I click the Save button the button flashes registering the click, but the edit modal stays open and the updates I've made are not saved. I can't submit these 1099s with incorrect information, but the system is not allowing me to save any changes.

Hi Kevin,
I also tried editing the information using that page, and I'm experiencing the same issue with the Save button/functionality.
I was able to figure this same issue out with the assistance of a QB Support Team Member named Jessica. The workaround is actually to go to Expenses > Vendors, click on the Vendor name, then click edit and change the information there. Hope this helps.
