I can't seem to find out why Payments isn't being accepted for my business. I've changed information in the app... I've called many times but they can't answer. Thoughts?

- successful business, good cash flow and credit - reviewed information provided many times (i.e. addresses, names, industry classification, business number, SIN/DOBm etc) - called customer support a few times and they indicate they can't contact the underwriting dept in ANY way, nor can they escalate to a manager who can contact them... seems like Underwriting operates within a vacumn or 'black box'. - all I need to know is WHY the application for Payments setup is being rejected so I can verify the reason and likely be able to clarify.

Are you running a B2B or B2C company? You can use a 3rd party payment processor as another option.

Welcome to QuickBooks Community, @brent30!

I can see how important to set up your payments account successfully. When setting up QuickBooks Online payments, there are precise standards that you must meet to avoid having your applications rejected.

Here's a summary of some of the reasons why you can't use the online payment feature:

  • Type of products or services you sell
  • Industries that are categorized as high-risk merchants ( Example: Firearm sellers, vape and e-cigarette merchants, alcohol, and cigars)
  • Credit History

Since you've reviewed some of your information, I'd still recommend contacting our Payments Support Team. A professional Payment Support might offer you additional advice on how to proceed with your application. This is the best way to check your account and might conduct an investigation (if necessary). You can view their contact details in this article: QuickBooks Payments.

Just in case, you can look for a third-party application that also helps you process payments in QuickBooks. You can go directly to the QuickBooks App Store website. From there, you can look for an app that integrates with QBO.
