I got an email saying I have a 1099, but when I click the link I can't find the 1099. I've never used QB or Intuit for this client before, either. Where is my 1099?

I billed this company through Bill.com, and while I do use QB/Intuit for other clients, I've never used this QuickBooks Self Employed thing before. The email I got says "[Client] sent your 1099 with QuickBooks. Set up your free Intuit account to view it." When I log into my account it brings me to a new dashboard for QB Self Employed, and I can't find this 1099 anywhere. Also, when I go to the Taxes section, it shows $0 in this year's transactions. Where am I going wrong?

It's great having you here in the QuickBooks Community, @sbling1993

After your client e-files your 1099 through QuickBooks, you can view the form when you sign up for a QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account if you don't have one yet. Since you've already signed up for one, I'm here to share the steps to view the form in QBSE.

You can follow the steps below to view the 1099 your client sent to you. I've also added a screenshot for visual reference.

  1. Login at https://selfemployed.intuit.com/login#/contractor/clients.
  2. Go to Clients.
  3. Select View on the client who sent the 1099.
  4. Select Tax Forms.

If you don't find the 1099 form after following the steps above, you can consider collaborating with your client to manually download your 1099 and email it to you.

For future reference, let me add this article in case you want to see an overview of QBSE and its features: Overview of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You're always welcome in the Community should you have further concerns viewing 1099s in QBSE or navigating it. We'll do our best to assist. Have a great day ahead!

Hmm it doesn't look like I have that Clients tab. I have asked my client to resend the 1099 via email, so hopefully that will just negate the need for the Intuit interface altogether.

Thank you for your assistance.

Replying again because I don't think my first reply went through. I don't believe I have that Clients tab, so I have asked my client to resend my 1099 via email to avoid the Intuit interface entirely.
