Import/fill quickbooks desktop PO via Excel spreadsheet

My CAD program exports a list of parts, part descriptions, and quantities to an excel spreadsheet. Is there a way I can import or copy/paste the data from the spreadsheet into a quickbooks desktop purchase order? I'm looking for any kind of solution that would help me from having to manually enter each item line by line.

What I'm looking for is a solution to fill in a purchase order quickly. The format of our purchase order is shown below.

Let me help and guide you in the right direction on how to import your data (spreadsheet) into the desktop program.

 

In addition to @Fiat Lux - ASIA answer, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) allows you to import your customers, vendors, items, and chart of accounts from an Excel spreadsheet. The option to copy and paste data from the spreadsheet into the purchase order, on the other hand, is currently unavailable. I can see the benefits of incorporating this functionality into the desktop program. Users will save time because they will no longer have to manually enter the data.  

 

I suggest submitting feedback about this feature so our engineers can consider adding it in future updates. Here's how:

 

  1. In your company file, head to the Help menu at the top bar to choose Send Feedback Online and Product Suggestions.
  2. This action will open the QuickBooks Feedback window.
  3. From there, click the Type of Feedback drop-down to select Product Suggestion.
  4. Press the Product Area drop-down and choose which area in QuickBooks needs improvement.
  5. Then enter your product suggestions in the Here is my suggestion box.
  6. Fill in the remaining fields.
  7. Click Send Feedback.

 

Alternatively, you can use a third-party program to copy and paste the information from your spreadsheet into the QBDT purchase order. To find one, go to the QuickBooks Apps Center. From there, enter a keyword in the search bar to expedite the process. Then, review the customers' reviews for a better comparison.
