Join nowI am new to QB Online but have been using QB Manufacturing Desktop for some time now. I am beginning the process of importing my customers and vendors to Online. Am I missing something, QBO does not allow you to import the Payment Terms or Shipping Data from your desktop CSV file? It appears I have to enter this information manually. When I go to Import Vendors or Customers QBO gives you 15 different fields that you can pull data from your CSV file. If I use the Manual entry of a Customer or Vendor there are 30 different fields that you can input data. Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like I am going to have to manually enter a lot of data for my 200 customers and 400 vendors?
Why do you need to convert your data from QB Desktop to QB Online? Any specific concern?
If you are a manufacturing company, you will need to use a 3rd party app with the assembly feature to integrate with QB Online.
If you insist to convert your data to QB Online, prepare your data with the following template

Hi, @VintageAF. I'm here to help.
You are correct. QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows only 15 different fields more or less that you can pull data from your CSV file when importing customer and vendor lists.
Although manually entering data is a viable option, you can consider what 4Gal advised, or look for a third-party app that allows you to customize mapping your fields to include Payment Terms or Shipping Data upon importing. Here's how you can look for the app within QBO:
When moving from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO, there are noticeable differences in how your books appear. I'm adding this one as a guide: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

I guess I am surprised at the current answers and potential solutions. I am failing to understand the thought process on how this was developed. There are 30 potential fields but yet you are only allowed to enter 15 from an Import. So now I have to manually enter my data or go with a third party app that someone has developed to fix QB's software issues.
At some point in the software development I would have thought there would have been a round table discussion by the software engineers and the other internal employees developing this platform that discussed shortcomings such as this.
If QB Online is a refined software as it should be, I wouldn't need third party software to import data or make it work as it should. For no further than I have ventured into this software, it feels like a beta version that has not been fully thought out. I hope things get better the deeper I get, we are not off to a good start.
Is there a different subscription level that I need to invest in to get a version of QB Online that can import all 30 fields?

They limit many data fields even for migration tools. You have no choice but to use a third-party tool or stick with QB Desktop.
