How can I get the Income Tracker page in QuickBooks Desktop Pro to show the total Open Invoices and total Overdue (the bar at the top of the page) for only the selected date range?
I imported some old incomplete data and it's showing up in the Open and Overdue totals at the top of the Income Tracker page. Those invoices were long ago paid off or written off as bad debt but I don't have those entries because the data I imported was incomplete.
So I would like to ignore that old invoice data so it doesn't show up in the Income Tracker page.
I can select the Date from the dropdown for This Fiscal Year and it shows the correct data in the detail area, but the Open and Overdue bar at the top of the page still shows the amount totals including the old incomplete invoice data that I imported.
Hi, @scottkeen.
It's nice to have you in the Community again. I'm here to help share some insights about the Income Tracker in QuickBooks.
The colored bars at the top of your Income Tracker will show total of all unpaid and paid invoices regardless of the Date range. The purpose of these bars is to display and filter the list.
Clicking the colored bars at the top of the window filters the list to show only the Unbilled, Unpaid, or Paid sales within the list. Showing all the total amount on the colored bars is fine as long as you have the correct results for the date range you selected.
Let me know if you have other questions about your income tracker. I'm just a post away if you need further help.
Hi LilyC. Thanks for the reply and the welcome back.
I understand what the bars at the top of the Income Tracker screen currently do, I'm just wondering if there is a way to have those bars reflect what is actually being filtered on the screen -- i.e. if I choose to filter for This Fiscal Year then the bars at the top will only show total Unpaid, Open, and Paid for this fiscal year, not the entire date range since the beginning of time.
I guess what I'm asking for is more of a Feature Request. But it just makes sense to me that if I choose to filter by date, then the bars at the top should reflect what is filtered.
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks for the clarification, @scottkeen.
I agree that it'd be nice if the colored bars matches with your filtered transactions.
I'm taking note of this and will pass it along here in my end.
