Buy nowWe are using online software that integrates with Quickbooks online and we were able to push estimates from the other software to Quickbooks online with no issues until we reported our first tax.
Now when we try to push the estimate we get an error that says "Missing Quickbooks Tax Code with Rate: 0.15" not that our tax is set to 15% on the other software.
We have verified that we have the tax enabled in Quickbooks online and it is also set to 15% but unsure what is causing the problem.
Hello there, @Hassanyn.
I can see the urgency of getting your issue resolved. Let me help route you to the best support who can investigate the cause of your sales tax error in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can push your estimates from the other online software and file your returns accordingly.
Since you've verified that your sales tax setup in QBO is correct, it seems that there's an issue with the integration between the system and the third-party application you're using for your estimates. With this, I'd recommend contacting them directly. They can further check the cause of the error and guide you with a fix.
Once the error is fixed, then you wish to see how much sales tax you owe, you can pull up the Sales Tax Liability report in QBO. You can learn more about this by visiting this article: Check How much sales tax you owe in QuickBooks Online.
You may also want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in filing your sales tax return and recording your payment in QBO: File your sales tax return and record sales tax payments in QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If there's anything else you need or questions about sales taxes and estimates in QBO, I'm always ready to help. Take care, and have a great day, @Hassanyn.
One note, we don't have a tax code in general in the global edition and maybe the software we are using is looking for a tax code.
Although, the system used to work for some time which doesn't make sense to me why not it not?
I can see how useful it is to have the tax codes properly set up in QuickBooks Online, @Hassanyn.
I'd like to provide some insights and guide you through the right support who can help further. You can then file your returns appropriately and push your estimations from the other online applications.
The setup and mapping may vary depending on the third-party app. Based on your scenario, it's best to get in touch with the third-party support team. This allows them to look into this further and give you the best resolution to your concern.
Also, you'll want to review this module about handling sales tax returns and payments in QBO, see this: File your sales tax return and record sales tax payments in QuickBooks Online.
Keep in touch if you have other concerns about taxes or QuickBooks in general. We're here 24/7 to back you up. Take care!
