I Love Stupid Physical Inventory Questions....

I'm a distributor of building materials and have a client that I get to take physical inventory every two weeks by sight. My questions is there a physical inventory app that can make this process easier and and more accurate or do I just buck it up and and count by by finger.  Not a lot of bar codes.
