I need to be able to search a field on our invoices and it does not show up as an option in the advanced search list. I renamed the "S.O. No" field as "DELIVERY TICKET" and need to be able to search for those numbers. As it is, I can find no option to do that.
If that is not an option at all, then I need a solution to be able to search for those numbers
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, tracemetals. I appreciate your detailed information and screenshot.
You can search for invoices using the Find Invoices feature.
Here's how:
You may also find some transaction-based reports which could help you locate the data you're looking for. I'd recommend reviewing our Understand reports article for a list of reports available with your subscription. You also have the option of using QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.

I know how to search invoices...lol...I'm needing to search a specific field that is not showing up in advanced search.
Please read my question again

In the meantime, you can run the Transaction List by Customer report and include the S.O. # in your columns to show your invoices with delivery ticket numbers.
These instructions should help you submit feedback regarding needing a specific searchable field. If you have any further inquiries regarding your user access in QBDT, please let us know by leaving a comment below. We're always here to help.
Ok, the transaction list by customer is not helpful for what I need. In some cases I would have to create the report with a wide date range to try to capture the one number that I am looking for, wait for QuickBooks to export it all to Excel because it could be a very large report, then do the 2 second "Find".
If that is not an option at all, then I need a solution to be able to search for those numbers
What field can I use in it's place that is searchable?
Hello tracemetals,
Thanks for chiming in and sharing! Since the workaround my colleague suggested is not working for you, it would be best to follow the directions to submit feedback.
I will also submit feedback because I can see how helpful this would be. See you soon.
