Is Intuit forcing businesses to use the Online version?

So it took them a year to make it public that they're forcing customers to pay as much as 1200% more for their subscriptions to Quickbooks by forcing them to the online version. No doubt the rep who answered this question knew it was coming. It was available a year ago, and it'll be available for two more days. But they're out to hurt you. They do not care about their customers, they care only about making money for their executives and shareholders. Hopefully their shortsightedness, greed, and extortionist tactics will cause shareholders to pull out because customers will leave in droves. I'm doing my best to get out. I hope you do as well.

Is Intuit forcing businesses to use the Online version?

I made an attempt to enroll in Surepay for payroll but quickly lost confidence in them after they could not get the 1Q numbers straight.  So after a long discussion with my accountant, I made a spreadsheet to calculate all taxes except Fed WH.  He told me I could look those up on the tax tables or calculate the percentage each employee had as a deduction for 2023 and use that percentage as long as they had not changes (ie married to single)

I will never give Quickbooks another dime.  OI disabled the Payroll service April 1, I closed my merchant account and will use this version until I can't.  It appears QB is dead set on crippling us, so I am not holding my breath until their next attempt to force us out.  Best of luck to you all.

Is Intuit forcing businesses to use the Online version?

Here's how bad it's gotten. I got a survey about the guy who processed my refund. He was a nice enough guy, he tried to help. I said in the comments that I don't trust Intuit to process the refund till it hits my credit card, so I marked the rep as neutral at every occasion it asked about him. I also left Intuit several comments about how dissatisfied I am with their product, and with their extortionist tactics. I got an e-mail back saying they wanted to talk to me about my negative experience. I talked to a nice man from the—get this—"Detractor Outreach" team. They have a "Detractor Outreach" team. That's how bad it's gotten.

But rather than fix it like Coke changed back from "New Coke" and brought back what they called (for a while) Coke Classic, Intuit will continue with greed and ill will rather than give in to what customers want. In place of customer satisfaction they have "Detractor Outreach". That's so pathetically bad, ya gotta love it (and hate that it has to be there). It's one of those things that's funny and sad at once.

Also, by the way, according to Adam from the Detractor Outreach team, after you cancel, they keep your data up online for A YEAR!

What type of tool?  I desperately need to import QBO files for my 2021 desktop version.

What's the name of the tool you referenced?  I looked at TransactionPro but it will not import QBO files if the desktop version (mine) is not supported but Intuit.

@grinmoure

You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 Enterprise to import *.qbo files. Otherwise, use TP Importer with your QB Desktop 2021. It's a $199 one time license + you can get $100 cashback to purchase it through a partner.
