Is it possible to make the field "bill no." mandatory, when booking the receipts

Let me share some information on creating bills in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Aha.

To begin with, please know that the option to make Bill no. mandatory is currently unavailable. We appreciate this suggestion and will consider it for future improvements.

In the meantime, I suggest manually entering the bill number. If you need to track and record payments, this article can guide you: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you can visit this page to learn more tips and references on how to enter expenses, pay bills, write checks, and manage suppliers: Expenses and vendors.

Leave a reply below if you have more questions about managing bills or have any QuickBooks-related concerns. I'm always here to assist you further. Keep safe.

Is it possible to make the field "bill no." mandatory, when booking the receipts

Dear Heidi.

Thank you so much for answering.

I have another "problem" when I try to book the receipts and put in/change the amount, it changes to another amount. I tried to go through the settings, compared to the other company, we have, but it still does not work. To start with, I made it work with the attached setting, but suddently it did not. Can you help me . what can I do? Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @AHA. Allow me to assist you further so you can successfully change the amount when booking receipts.

Since you tried fixing it through your account settings and still didn't work. For now, I recommend using a private browser, as it ignores websites from using cookies and doesn’t record any history and data.

Here's how:

  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N

If this works, I suggest clearing the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result, I recommend switching to a different supported browser.

Moreover, I've also included these helpful articles about sales receipts for additional reference:

Please know that I'm available to help with any further questions about sales receipts or QuickBooks Online. I'd be happy to assist you. Stay safe always.
