Is there a fix yet for QBO overpayments that are receiving this message

"This transaction has been deposited. If you want to change or delete it, you must edit the deposit it appears on and remove it first."  The transaction has not been deposited. It is only on overpayments right after the QBO update. I'm in limbo with these payments.

Is there a fix yet for QBO overpayments that are receiving this message

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, APS3.

You'll encounter a "This transaction has been deposited. If you want to change or delete it, you must edit the deposit it appears on and remove it first." message when trying to edit a transaction that's associated with your Undeposited Funds account. You have to the delete deposit before you can make changes to your transaction.

Here's how:

  1. In the left navigation bar, go to Transactions, then Chart of accounts.
  2. Find your account and click its View register option.
  3. Locate the deposit and expand its record.
  4. Click your Delete option. If you want to delete a specific payment, choose it from the list.
  5. Access your Edit tab in the top menu bar and hit Delete Line.
  6. Select Yes to confirm your changes.

If you've identified that the transaction hasn't been deposited, but you continue encountering this message, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with deposits which may come in handy moving forward: Record & make bank deposits

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Monday!

Is there a fix yet for QBO overpayments that are receiving this message

So I have a sales invoice that I have received a partial payment against already. I now need to add a little refund to the invoice before the balance is paid. I am getting the same error message "

This transaction has been deposited. If you want to change or delete it, you must edit the deposit it appears on and remove it first. " Why would I have to do anything with the partial payment already received? I have done this transaction many times in the past and have had no issues.

Thanks for chiming in on this thread. I know how essential it is for you and your business to utilize the QuickBooks Online (QBO) overpayments flawlessly, Beth.

You'll encounter that error if the partial payment has already been deposited to the bank. If you want to change that invoice, you need to remove the partial payment from the deposited transaction. Please follow the steps that @ZackE provided.

If you haven't seen the transaction deposited but keep encountering this message, I recommend contacting our Customer Care team. They can securely access your account, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary. Here's how to get in touch with our Support Team:

  1. Go to the Intuit Developer Support website.
  2. Click QuickBooks Online.
  3. Select Ask a Question.
  4. When prompted to sign in, log in to your Intuit account.
