Journal Entry problem

Yesterday I performed a "Rebuild Data" on my company file.  I use Journal Entries for posting payments with a 3rd party Gym Management system so all my payments are entered using Journal Entries by importing an iif file.  After the rebuild was performed a line item from a journal entry from back in May 2022 now shows up in undeposited funds and is ready for deposit when I select "Make Deposits" in my daily tasks.  The issue is the entry already resides in my checking register and is reconciled from the May reconciliation.  How do I remove this Journal Entry line item from my Make Deposits screen without affecting anything else?  Quickbooks 2022

Journal Entry problem

Hello there, @markvalverde. I'd like to share some insights and tips about your journal entry problem in QuickBooks Desktop.

You'll have to first check if the journal entry you made matches the one that has previously been reconciled. Those entries may have been imported before that causing duplicates.

Additionally, deleting the entry that isn't supposed to appear has no impact on anything. Here are the steps to delete the entry:

  1. Go to the Lists menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate, then double-click to open the register.
  4. Find the entry that you want to remove.
  5. Right-click, then click on Delete.
  6. Once done, hit OK.

Journal Entry problem

Hello!

I'm experiencing a similar issue, but I don't think the answer here works for me (not sure).  My data was JUST migrated from QB desktop to QBO.  I have journal entries going back to 2002 in my Bank Deposit page.  I don't want to delete the journal entries, since they are moving amounts from one category to another (such as moving a prepaid expense to a current expense), but I do want to remove them from my deposit list.

My undeposited funds account is zero, so I know they have been deposited.

Interestingly, my more recent journal entries do NOT appear in this list.  Only old ones!

How do I remove these from the deposit list, but not delete the journal entry itself?

Thank you!

Thanks for joining this thread, @OCEAN Bookkeeper.

I understand removing old journal entries in the deposit list would be a great option on your end. Let me share info about this.

Currently, the ability to remove journal entries in the deposit list is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, we can reverse it if you allocate the transaction between accounting periods or change Debit and Credit.

Feel free to read this article for more info: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, to view the new journal entries, you can toggle the Date in the header. And if you're in the report, you can change the reporting period to show All Dates.

In the meantime, I recommend submitting direct feedback to our Product Development Team. They might consider this feature in our future product updates. Here's how:

  1. Select Settings ⚙, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

You may also want to submit feature requests through this link: http://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/forums/168199.

Furthermore, to learn how to print a single journal entry or multiple entries on one report, you can read this article: Print a journal entry report in QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything else I can do to help you with managing your journal entries, just let me know by leaving a comment below. Have a good day.
