Join nowI am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024, and when I open one of my company files, I am no longer presented with the option to enter the name and password of another user.
The Company file acts as if there's only one user setup. I deleted all the users and recreated them, to no avail.
See the difference in the attached file.
Welcome to the Community, @jkhalaf.
We aim for a different impression when you open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop. Logging into your Intuit account and verifying your identity helps you protect your data and account. This process ensures that only you have access to your account.
Intuit or QuickBooks will only notify you to log in again to your Intuit account as the Primary Admin if 180 days have passed from your last log-in. Let's update QuickBooks to the latest release to keep your software updated and free from any possible issues. Here's how:

Thank you for the suggestions, but that did not work.
I followed the steps to reset updates and I also ran file doctor.
File Doctor reported that my file has no problems.
Install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise. Did you encounter the same problem?
Thank you for the follow-up, jkhalaf. Let me provide more details to assist you with the concern about logging into the company file.
The QuickBooks program remembers the last person who logged in. This is why you can only see a password field when you try to open the file.
To resolve this, you'll need to log out so that the other user can log in successfully. Allow me to guide you through the steps:
If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our phone or chat support teams. They can take a closer look at your company file settings to investigate why it's no longer asking for login credentials, and provide further assistance.

4Gal,
I installed Enterprise 2024 and opened my file. Same problem. I don't get the option to access the company file as a different user.
I can see that you did everything to fix this, jkhalaf. Let me provide information and ensure you can access your company file as a different user.
As mentioned by my colleague, QuickBooks remembers the previous user who logged in, which is why you can only see a password field when you try to open the file.
If you already followed the steps provided by my colleague jenop2, but the issue persists, I recommend contacting our technical support. Our expert can assist you through a screen-sharing session to examine your company file settings and determine why you're no longer able to input your login details.
Here's how you can contact them:

Thank you for the response ShyMae.
The problem with calling support is that I get the same set of steps to perform over and over again.
I have talked to support three times already, only to get the same repeatable set of steps.
None of those steps are working. I have reset updates, run the file doctor, removed and re-added users, and the list goes on.
Consider to purchase a 3rd party Admin password removal service.
Not really sure how that would help. I already know my Admin password and can change it at will. I am just unable to logon to the company file with a user other than the Admin, even though I have more than user created.
Open the sample file and create multiple user profile to login. Did you encounter the same problem?
A sample file works just fine. No issue. I can login as any one of the created users.
A sample file does not exhibit the same behavior. I opened one and created multiple users and I can login as any of the users.
That proves your company file is corrupt. Consider purchasing a third-party file repair service.
Any recommendations?
