hi everyone,

our company is giving a logistics and storage and shipping  services for our customers,

we have a massive inventory from a various customers.

we store and ship for each customer his own inventory and we dont have products of our own.

so basically we sale only services since we dont have products of our own.

we are seriously considering move our company to quickbooks desktop enterprise.

can quickbooks  enterprise desktop provide us with a solution to apply each customer his own products which we store and ship for him?

i am well aware of all the online and cloud based solutions for us however its important for us to have our management software offline.

Hi there, goad.

Thanks for providing further details of your concern. Let me share with you what we can do to record the items from different customers in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

In QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, we can create a memorized transactions to get these things done within your company file. To guide you further, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select Memorized Transactions Lists from the Lists menu or press Ctrl T on your keyboard.
  2. Click Memorized Transaction drop-down arrow. Then, select the New Group option.
  3. Enter a name of what you'd like to name it.
  4. Select the required details. Then, OK.

Once done, create a transaction to record the multiple items you've got from them. Here's how:

  1. Click Create Invoice from the Customers menu.
  2. Enter your customer's name and record all their items.
  3. Hit Memorize and select Add to Group.
  4. Click the Group name drop-down arrow. And then, select the memorized name we've created earlier.
  5. Then, hit OK.

This is how it looks like:

If you'd like to modify or delete them, check this article for more details. It provides steps by steps on how to do it successfully: Manage repeating transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, QBDT has a Pricing rule features that let QuickBooks set conditions for the item price changes. For more details, please visit this link.

Let me know if you have other follow-up questions in regards to the details I've shared. I'm right here to provide clarification and help you more in case you need one. Have a good a nice day!

thank you for your reply,

but what i meant, is there a way to receive my customer products from him and every time i need to ship out some of his products the inventory specified to him will subtract from the inventory?

i thought of making 2 accounts for each customer one as a vendor and one as a customer which seem a reasonable solution but i was hoping that quickbooks might have a more integrated solution that wont require a workaround.

if you have any other suggestion about how to operate our kind of business i will be happy to hear them.

thank you :)
