Looking for QB POS Users to collaborate on ODBC reporting

I’ve recently installed QODBC for QuickBooks Point of Sale and found that there is a lack of good information on finding the data I would like to use for reporting.  Getting the tables (customers, vendors, inventory items) is simple but I am having trouble locating and using transactional information. A good example is I would like to write a report similar with Sales Information by Item Number similar to the report available in QB POS but I want to generate it in Excel (SQL).  If there are others using ODBC I’m sure we could help each other out with tips and tricks.  Anyone out there???

Looking for QB POS Users to collaborate on ODBC reporting

Hello BlueHavanaII,

QuickBooks Point of Sale can smoothly integrate with other software like the one you mentioned (QODBC). Within the program we can export the reports to Excel and manipulate it from there. Though we don't have a direct way of exporting your reports to SQL, you can use an online converter to do this.

  1. Open the report you want to export.
  2.  Click the Excel icon next to the Print icon.
  3. Save the exported file.
  4. Look for an online SQL converter.

While we're not familiar with navigating the QODBC platform, I'd recommend contacting their technical support. They might have options that will help us convert the files easily.

We'll be right here if you have additional concerns within the program. Have a great day!

Thanks for replying. I’m working through it and making progress. I’m just surprised that there aren’t more folks out there using this.  Was hoping to find a like minded  group of people to network with.
