MISSING FUNCTIONALITY IN "UPGRAGE": WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ABILITY TO CREATE AN AUTO-POPULATED, RECURRING INVOICE TEMPLATE IN THE NEW INVOICING SYSTEM?

This functionality appears to be missing from the "new invoicing system," but if it's hidden there somewhere, please show me where it is! 

 

I can create an auto-populated recurring invoice template from the old invoicing system by clicking "make recurring" at the bottom of an invoice, but that does not exist in the new invoicing system. Hannah, the rep I just spoke to, couldn't assist. 

 

If QBO has dropped this functionality, do they even realize that they did it? I need this functionality back! MANY of us need this functionality back!

I understand the importance of this feature, Jodie. Allow me to share some insights about this matter.

 

The Make Recurring option is no longer available in the new invoice layout. To have the functionality back, I recommend checking if you can switch to the old interface. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the + New menu and then select Invoice.
  2. On the page, click Old layout.
  3. Choose Switch to old layout.
  4. Share your thoughts to proceed.

If you can't go back, we can create a template on the Recurring transactions page instead. I'll show you how:

 

  1. Go to Settings and then select Recurring transactions.
  2. Click New.
  3. Choose Invoice, and then OK.

  4. Enter a Template name.
  5. Select a Type: ScheduledReminder, or Unscheduled.

You can follow these steps to send a request:

 

  1. From the + New menu, select Invoice.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Type Add the Make recurring option.
  4. Once done, click Submit feedback.

So, is that the final word from Quickbooks? They know that this is an important feature, however, they don't care, they've removed it from their upgrade, and following the forced conversion on May 6, 2024, I can just fly a kite?

 

I know how to create a recurring invoice template from scratch. The only thing that was relevant to my needs was whether QBO knows they've removed this particular functionality from their users, and whether or not they will put it back.

Removing features is bad and will only cause negative responses.  We rely on recurring transactions daily, heavily.  Our business maximizes recurring income.  Now we have to build each one twice, a second time from scratch because the Make Recurring option is gone.  Why?  Why take away a complete functionality?
