[Multi-currency] BUG: No support for receipts in non-home currencies

I'd like to report a bug in QuickBooks Online. Given a US QBO account, set up for multi-currency, receipts created in QBO are always assumed to be in the _home_ currency. There seems to be no way to change the currency for the receipt.

For a system that claims to have multi-currency support (and charges accordingly for it), this is not acceptable!

[Multi-currency] BUG: No support for receipts in non-home currencies

Hi there, quickestbooks.

Thank you for taking the time to post today. I'll share information about changing your home currency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks depends on the currency of the bank. The option to change the home currency in the receipt isn't available. As a workaround, you can consider creating an expense transaction with the correct currency and manually attaching the receipt from there. I'll show you how:

  1. Click the + New button, then select Expense.
  2. Select the Vendor from the drop-down.
  3. Fill out the necessary information.
  4. In the Attachments section, attach the receipt.
  5. Click Save and close.

I've added this article to help you learn more about Multicurrency: Learn about Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance managing currency in QBO. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.

[Multi-currency] BUG: No support for receipts in non-home currencies

Hi LeizyIM, I appreciate that there is a workaround. It's what we're already using now. The point of this post is that receipts can come in in all sorts of currencies and QBO should have a way to accept those without convoluted manual steps. Can you please file this as a bug with the QBO developers?
