Hello, I have another question: I'm trying to clean up prior years books to ensure open purchase orders and sales orders are up-to-date if pulled up for review (and old po's and so's are closed out). There's a password that's been set up for po's and so's prior to 2017. In case we're unable to retrieve the password, is there any way to undo this and allow for us to edit the books again? We have a CPA for our financial statements, but I doubt that they still have it. Thanks.

You can set up or change the password anytime. If you forgot the password, just remove the password and re-enter the updated one. Just make sure you log in as the Administrator in the company file.
Here's how:
Click Edit on the top menu.
Choose Preferences.
Select Accounting and tick Company Preferences.
At the bottom of the screen, tap the Set Date/Password button.
Select the Closing Date.
Create the new password in the Closing Date Password field.
Enter the password again in the Confirm Password field.
Press OK.
Once done, close and re-open QuickBooks to save the changes.

Hi, thanks! I was able to do this through the admin account (we're able to close out sales orders/purchase orders now).
Great news @SmartyCorp!
Thanks for circling back to let us know that Fiat-Lux's solution worked for you.
