If I sell through my own Shopify site (retail) and also through other 3rd party resellers and distributors (wholesale), what is your recommendation for recording the customer name/information in Quickbooks? Should my Shopify site just be a single Customer in QB Online and then the 3rd party resellers/distributers be other customers? So, even if I have thousands of individual consumers buying through my Shopify website, you would never have a record of them in QB Online? Or do you send every individual customer name, address, etc... from Shopify to QB Online? Thank you for your advice.
Hi and good day, srockfeld1.
You can add them as customer and then use the class tracking feature to classify the transactions by departments, product lines, or any other segments in your business.
You can enable the feature by following these steps:
I'd also recommend consulting with your accountant for any advice about tracking these customers.

I would consider using an inventory management app as the central node to integrate with QBO. Shopify for B2C and it integrates to an inventory management app with a feature of B2B portal for resellers.
Is there a specific app you recommend. This one seems highly rated. https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/appdetails/quickbooks_online_with_shopify/en-us

You might want to try SKUSavvy for this task since it will connect with your Shopify store to bring over locations, products, inventory, customers, and orders then enable you to track inventory, manage inbound orders, visually create a warehouse layout, and pick-pack-ship orders.
Everything is updated back to your Shopify account which is connected to Quickbooks.
