Is it possible to print packing list for sales receipt? I would like to be able to print a packing list for the warehouse that only shows the quantity and not the price. However, that function is only available for invoices but not sales receipt. What are some alternative solutions for it?
Hey there, @arejaylee00.
I hope you're enjoying your day.
As of right now, there's not a way to print a packing list for a sales receipt. However, I do have a workaround for you. We can customize a sales receipt template and convert it into a packing slip.
Allow me to explain how:
1. Open the sales receipt.
2. At the top menu bar of the sales receipt, choose Formatting, then Customize Data Layout.
3. Select the Columns tab, and remove everything but Item, Description, Quantity.
4. Hit Basic Customization.
5. On the next screen, select Manage Templates at the top.
6. Then change the Template name to Packing list.
Once you have your template fixed, you can now choose this template from the sales receipt screen anytime that you need a packing list printed.
That's all there is to it. Please let me know if I can be of more assistance. Take care and have a good one!
So our process is that we print one normal sales receipt for the customer, and we print another "packing slip" for the warehouse to fulfill the order. Problem is that changing the template and re-printing requires a re-save and our cashier don't have modify access to do re-save. Any workaround for that?
Thanks for following up with me, @arejaylee00.
I've looked further into this for you to see if we can find you another workaround. At this time there's no other suggestions that can work with the sales receipt packing slip.
If you'd like, I can send feedback to our product engineers so this can be considered in a future update.
I hope you have a great rest of your week. Please let me know if I can do anything to help you out.
Hi there, Packing Lists can be complex to fill out correctly, as products can be packaged and loaded in so many different ways. We have published the new IncoDocs app, where you can integrate your QuickBooks and IncoDocs accounts. Using IncoDocs, exporters can easily create Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices and other export documentation that is required for shipping products Internationally.
You can view the details of the IncoDocs app here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/appdetails/incodocs/
I hope that helps. Happy Shipping!
