passwords

2 weeks ago a password for a QuickBooks file I had been using stopped working.  After a long telephone call with Intuit the file had to be uploaded and fixed by Intuit.  I received it back about 4 days later.  Yesterday two more files will no longer open with their passwords.  Intuit told me 2 weeks ago that they had an issue with passwords and that many customers were calling in.  Does anyone know if Intuit has this fixed?

Hello there, @60isgood.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Allow me to step in and provide more help about resolving your password issue.

I've checked my tools, and there are no updates available yet about issues with the QuickBooks file password. However, we can work together and try the automated password reset tool to help you surpass this:

  1. Download the Automated password tool for QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Fill out the fields with correct information.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Accept the license agreement.
  5. Run the Automated password reset tool.
  6. Enter the token number received via email.
  7. From QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down, select the same QuickBooks version.
  8. Select Browse for Company File, then choose the company file that you want to reset the password for.
  9. Enter your New Password and it's confirmation.
  10. Select Reset Password to complete the process.

You should now be able to open QuickBooks and log in to your company file using the new password, 60isgood.

On the other hand, you will have to contact our phone support once more if you get the same result. I know that you've already called, but they have more tools to help us further investigate the cause of this.

Here's how you can reach our phone support:

  1. Click this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/Contact-QuickBooks-Desktop-support/m-p/18603....
  2. Select the version of QuickBooks, click Contact Us.
  3. Type-in Technical Support on the search bar.
  4. Click Get the Phone number below.

Keep me posted on how it goes, 60isgood. You can tag or mention my name when adding a reply. This way, I'll be notified and can help you more. Take care.
