I know how frustrating it can be, @lwarner9489. I’m here to help so you can print and file your 1099s in QuickBooks.
To successfully print and E-file your 1099 forms, you’ll want to make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is on the latest release with appropriate Ultra-Light Patches (ULIP) or Critical Fixes.
Here’s how:
- Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Click the Options tab. Select Mark All and then Save.

- Press the Update Now tab. Make sure the Critical Fixes option is marked.
- Hit Get Updates.

You need to close and reopen your QuickBooks account when the update is finished. Once done, click Yes to install the updates, then restart your computer.
