There are at least a couple threads in the past 2 years requesting to add line number on estimates, purchase orders, and invoices. It is basis stuff and necessary to effectively communicate with vendors and customers.
The displayed table on the screen already has the first column of sequential number for each line item. Why is it so hard (or so long) for QBO Product Development Team to include it in the print out? You don't have to be a programmer to know how easy it is to add a sequential number to the output data.
When QBO will take this action? It has been 20 months since this thread. Hopeless with empty promises.
I appreciate you taking the time to check this with us, Chau.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on how you'd like to improve the customization feature by having the option to add a column to sales forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Know that we are taking note of this.
Here at Intuit, we always aim to meet the demands of our customers. Our developers always made sure to study the benefits of the new features before they release it.
While we don't have an exact time frame as to when will this be available, I encourage you to visit our QuickBooks blog. From there we share the latest QuickBooks news and feature updates of the product.
Stay tuned for updates. Drop me a reply below if there's anything I can help you with. Wishing you all the best!
How long do I need to stay tune on this, QB Team? Is 18 months long enough? We just ask to PRINT THE LINE ITEMS NUMBER SHOWN ON THE SCREEN TO THE PDF.
Many people have been asking for it. Still NO action for years. What is the deal is with QB Development Team?
Today marks 37 months of this request. No action from QBO.
Hello there, @Chau. I've come to provide you details about your sales form concern.
As of now the option to add the number for line items when printing estimates, purchase orders, and invoices is unavailable. Rest assured that our product engineers are constantly working to improve QuickBooks Online (QBO) and add features that would be beneficial for you and other customers.
In the meantime, you'll want to manually add the number for the line items in the description column of the form. This will show its order, and will also populate when you print the forms.
You can also visit our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website to track submitted feature requests.
You'll want to import and design custom form styles for your invoices or estimates in QBO to help reflect your brand identity.
Drop me a Reply if I can do anything else for you. Have a great rest of your day.
The import feature for custom form style no longer exists. QB killed it last year and removed from QB Labs.
Hello, new QuickBooks online user after using desktop premiere for 25 years. In searching through the Support articles, I believe it is not possible to add line item numbers for purchase Sters to vendors. When creating per solders of 1000 product is difficult to discuss the first order without one items on the PDF or printed PO, is there a workaround that I may not be aware of when discussing shoulders with a vendor, this seems to be a very simple request that is available for sales orders (estimates)as well as invoice.
