Printing Packing List

We have the packing slip template header configured to print the project/job name (checkbox checked).  However, when actually printing the document the text from the Project Name field does not print.   We also have PO selected and it prints fine.

Any ideas?

Printing Packing List

Hi there, MU95.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let's preview the slip in QuickBooks to see which fields are included when printing it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Customers menu and select Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet.
  2. Choose a customer from the Sales Orders list and sort it.
  3. Mark the Packing Slips box.
  4. Tap Print.
  5. Click Preview to see what the form looks like, then select Print when you can print it.

However, once verified the Project name field is included in the printing of the packing slip, I suggest running the Print and PDF tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to isolate the issue. First, Download the QuickBooks tool hub. The QuickBooks Tool Hub is a helpful tool for fixing common errors. You will need to close QuickBooks to use it. For the best experience, we recommend using Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Please save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub when the installation finishes.

Another is to use the Print and PDF Repair tool. Here's how:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. It'll take about a minute to run.
  3. Try to print or save it as a PDF from QuickBooks Desktop again.

If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting steps above. You can uninstall and reinstall your QuickBooks to isolate if this is something to do with your QuickBooks. Refer to this article for more detailed steps: Re-install QuickBooks for Windows

None of this works.  And, why does QB always default to remove and reinstall the program?

Printing Packing List

Good morning, @MU95

Thanks for reaching back out.

The previous agent was suggesting that step as a last resort in case their initial instructions didn't do the trick.

Since none of those were successful, I recommend using the Verify and Rebuild tool to help resolve the issue. This tool assists with fixing common errors that can occur in the system with data.

Come back and let us know how these instructions go from the guide that's listed. I'll be right around the corner if you need me!
